Georgia Firearm Registering Procedures

As we have mentioned above, you do not need a permit to buy a firearm. You may want to get a Weapons Carry License (WCL) if you want to be able to carry a concealed firearm. You need to meet the same age requirements as buying a firearm and meet other background requirements, such as not having convictions for drug possession, for example.

You will need an identification card, a driver’s license, proof of residency and citizenship, or your insurance number. You will also need to pay a fee (usually it is around $75 but can vary). The application process occurs at a probate court where you ask for an application for a firearm license, pay the fee, and submit the application form. You will also submit fingerprints.

There will be background checks, and then it will be determined if you can get the license (usually after about 30 days).

How to Fill Out the Form

For best results, use our form building software. You can then fill out the Bill of Sale form following these steps:

1.    Provide the details of the parties.

Both the seller and the purchaser need to provide their full names, addresses, city and state, and driver’s licenses’ numbers.

2.    Give a description of the firearm.

The firearm description must contain the make, the model, the caliber, and the firearm’s serial number.

3.    State the selling price.

Check all boxes that apply to the details of the purchase price and enter the correct price paid and the date of the sale.

4.    Confirm that the stated information is correct.

Both the seller and the buyer need to read the form again and check that the information is accurate before signing the form.

5.    Sign the form.

The seller and the buyer fill in their names again and confirm the information in the form and the transaction details with their signatures.
