In the state of Georgia, you do not need a permit to buy a firearm. When buying or selling a firearm, you may want to fill out a free bill of sale template to have the transaction’s details between the seller and the purchaser in a document. The form can serve as proof of the transaction of the rights to the firearm. The seller should check that the purchaser can legally obtain a firearm. The purchaser has to be at least 21 years old to buy a firearm in Georgia unless they can provide proof that they have received appropriate training or are in the military.
Georgia allows concealed or open carry for permit-holders, so the purchaser needs to obtain one when buying a firearm if they want to have the right to carry a concealed firearm.

Georgia Firearm Registering Procedures
As we have mentioned above, you do not need a permit to buy a firearm. You may want to get a Weapons Carry License (WCL) if you want to be able to carry a concealed firearm. You need to meet the same age requirements as buying a firearm and meet other background requirements, such as not having convictions for drug possession, for example.
You will need an identification card, a driver’s license, proof of residency and citizenship, or your insurance number. You will also need to pay a fee (usually it is around $75 but can vary). The application process occurs at a probate court where you ask for an application for a firearm license, pay the fee, and submit the application form. You will also submit fingerprints.
There will be background checks, and then it will be determined if you can get the license (usually after about 30 days).
