The following are different types of Oklahoma POA forms:
General POA
When you want to assign an agent power to manage all your finances, you can use the general power of attorney form. But if the grantor dies, the document is rendered invalid in Oklahoma.
Limited POA
When you want to issue specific powers to an agent, the limited power of attorney form will suit your goals. Probably you need someone to manage your financial books without the power to buy or sell assets. However, the power becomes invalid when the grantor passes away.
Durable POA
This form is referred to as the statutory power of attorney document, similar to a general POA. The only difference is that it has more powers since it still holds validity when the grantor becomes incapacitated due to illness or an accident.
Medical POA
This type of power of attorney allows a principal to appoint a family member or a close friend as an agent to make critical medical decisions in favor of the grantor. It usually happens if the grantor falls ill and can’t make any rational decisions.
Revocation POA
This document cancels the power of attorney agreement and ends the relationship between the agent and the principal. The grantor can decide to revoke the power of attorney document for different reasons. However, he/she must sign the form in a healthy state of mind to be considered valid in Oklahoma state.
Minor Child POA
Sometimes parents can get work trips abroad and have to leave their child with a responsible guardian. This form permits the parents to assign legal rights to an agent if any emergency occurs while they are away. Whether it concerns the hospital or school, the agent will make all the decisions. However, it is for a temporary period.
Real Estate POA
This document permits you to issue authority to an attorney-in-fact to manage your real estate affairs. For instance, the buying and selling of properties while filling in all the necessary paperwork.
Vehicle POA
When you buy a vehicle, you must sign several agreement documents and other paperwork before finalizing the purchase deal. This form permits a grantor to issue powers to an agent to transact and acquire a motor vehicle on his behalf.
State Tax POA
According to Oklahoma law, this document is called a BT-129 form. It permits a principal to give an agent the mandate to prepare and file taxes in his place. However, the agent must be a professional who understands the taxation requirements while communicating with the Revenue Department in Oklahoma.
